Hiking in Transylvania
Our hiking tour in Transylvania is proposing you not only hiking and trekking in one of the nicest and best preserved zones of Europe, but also a few days for discovering the Maramures and the Bucovina regions. The tiny village Lunca ilvei is located at the feet of the Bargau Mountains (Northern Carpathians). The kindness of its inhabitants and the gorgeous scenery will stay engraved into your memory.
These four days of hiking in Transylvania will offer you the true image of the meaning of rural life in Romania. Sharp green meadows, flocks of sheep with their shepherds and the watch dogs returning daily for milking at the sheepfold, multicolor mountain flowers, and not for last simple local people who, despite their rude life, preserve their native humour- everything is present to impress the visitors. Not to mention the perfect silence of the high mountains, with no civilisation sound, which impresses anybody living in a town!
Being modelled for all public, our short Transylvania hiking and trekking tour does not ask for important hiking skills.
After the days of hiking in Transylvania we continue across two other regions of Romania: the Maramures, land of the wooden churches and the Bucovina, land of painted monasteries (UNESCO Patrimony), but also paradise of local gastronomy.
For the entire duration of this Transylvania trekking tour you will be accompanied by a specialized English speaking tour guide, doubled on the hiking trails by a local guide, who will take you off the beaten tracke, following cattle and sheep pathes. For usthis hiling tour in Transylvanian carpathians is one of the best and accessible hikings in Romania.
Don’t hesitate to share with us a great hiking experience!
